TRIAD In 2003 the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office in
collaboration with the Division of Senior Services and the Sussex County Chiefs
of Police formed – Sussex County
Triad. Sussex
County Triad currently consists of 25
senior members. A Triad consists of a partnership which involves
who agree to work together.
The goals are to reduce the criminal victimization of seniors and enhance
the delivery of law enforcement services population.
Triad provides the opportunity for an exchange of information between law
enforcement and senior citizens. TRIAD

SENIOR CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY Sussex County Triad offers county seniors (55 years and
older) a unique opportunity to learn about the complex roles of modern day law
enforcement agencies. Speakers from
municipal, county, state and other agencies offer insight into their roles in law
enforcement as well as the role of citizens in assisting in those agencies in
the war against crime and terrorism. Enrollment in this course involves a nine week commitment to attend weekly classes at the Sussex County Fire Academy. Topics include crime prevention, personal safety, home security, gang awareness, narcotics lecture, fraud, demonstration by the Sheriff’s Emergency Services (K-9 and Tactical Response Unit). Appointments for Senior ID’s: Individuals can make appointments for Senior ID’s with Sgt. Terry Hospodar by calling 973-579-0888. The Senior ID’s are done at the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office located at 39 High Street, Newton, New Jersey. Senior Groups or Facilities: can make arrangements for the Sheriff’s Office to come to their location by contacting Sgt. Terry Hospodar at 973-579-0888 or by submitting a letter to Sheriff Robert E. Untig, 39 High Street, Newton, New Jersey.
Sussex County Triad members also participate
in events and activities sponsored by the New Jersey State Triad Association
