WARRANTS

The Warrant/Fugitive Unit is  is responsible for receiving, entering and maintaining all arrest warrants issued by the Superior Court of Sussex County, including criminal, family and civil warrants.  Currently, the Sheriff's Office has in excess of 400 active arrest warrants on file. The Unit also works with the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office on out-of-state extradition's of wanted individuals. These investigations result in the locating and apprehension of wanted fugitives while the extradition's return those wanted individuals back to New Jersey to stand trial.  

In 2004 the unit received 1032 warrants and arrested 833 individuals.  A total of 183 warrants were rescinded or vacated in 2004.
