Vogel The Division of Emergency Management is part of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office It is the Mission of the Sussex County Division of Emergency Management to provide for the health, safety and welfare of citizens of the County of Sussex and to aid in the prevention of damage to and the destruction of property during any emergency. Through hazard identification and mitigation, emergency preparedness, response and recovery, the Division uses science, technology, planning and management to deal with extreme events that can injure or kill large numbers of people, do extensive damage to property and disrupt community life. In coordinating the efforts of police, fire, EMS, public works, public health and a myriad of volunteer organizations, teamwork is fostered that will result in the best possible outcome in critical emergencies and disasters. |
